Optical excellence

The Galilean microscope provides five magnification steps—6×, 10×, 16×, 25×, and 40×. High light transmission and carefully resolved optics produce a bright, detailed view throughout the magnification range, supporting routine examinations as well as closer evaluation of fine structures.

LED illumination

Every current BOLAN slit lamp uses advanced LED illumination to produce a bright, sharp, and homogeneous slit beam. The long-life LED eliminates routine bulb changes.

A tilting frame supports reliable posterior segment viewing, while the defocusing function expands the available options for indirect illumination. Controls are positioned where they fall naturally to hand, making adjustments smooth, precise, and effortless throughout the examination.

Light filters

The BL-99C includes yellow barrier, cobalt blue, neutral density, and red-free filters.

Yellow barrier

The yellow barrier filter improves contrast during fluorescein viewing, helping reveal corneal and tear-film detail.

Cobalt blue

Cobalt blue illumination supports the evaluation of epithelial defects, abrasions, corneal ulcers, herpetic lesions, and contact lens fit.

Red-free

The red-free filter improves visibility of the retinal nerve fiber layer, making wedge defects easier to identify. It also helps distinguish pigmented lesions from vascular structures and hemorrhages.

Each filter can be engaged or removed quickly using the control lever.

Integrated digital imaging

The integrated 8-megapixel imaging system captures 3840 × 2160 JPEG photographs and 1920 × 1080 MP4 video at 60 frames per second. It brings high-resolution still photography and Full HD clinical video into the same examination platform.
