Compact slit lamp

BL-9A

Compact five-step Galilean optics with LED illumination and integrated filters for direct clinical examination.

BOLAN BL-9A compact slit lamp in blue-gray finish

Compact clinical design

Five-step capability in a compact design.

The BL-9A combines a compact clinical form with a five-step Galilean microscope, LED illumination, and integrated diagnostic filters. Its 6×, 10×, 16×, 25×, and 40× magnifications provide a broad optical range for direct examination without an integrated imaging system.

From broad orientation to fine inspection

The five-step magnification system moves through 6×, 10×, 16×, 25×, and 40×. Clinicians can begin with a broad view, progress through the middle ranges, and move to 40× when a closer optical inspection is needed.

A 12.5× eyepiece works with the Galilean microscope to provide a binocular stereo view throughout the magnification range.

A continuous LED slit for changing views

LED illumination supplies the examination beam across the full optical range. Slit width adjusts continuously from 0 to 14 mm, allowing the clinician to move from a fine optical section to wider illumination without changing instruments.

The illumination tower keeps the beam controls close to the microscope so the viewing condition can be refined while the patient remains positioned at the instrument.

Integrated filters for focused observation

The BL-9A includes heat-absorption, neutral-density, red-free, cobalt-blue, and built-in yellow filters within the illumination system.

Yellow barrier
Used with cobalt-blue illumination, the yellow barrier filter increases the visible contrast of fluorescein staining.
Cobalt blue
Cobalt-blue illumination supports fluorescein-based examination of the corneal surface and contact lens fit.
Neutral density
The neutral-density filter lowers illumination intensity while maintaining the color balance of the observed field.
Red-free
Red-free viewing improves contrast between vascular structures and the surrounding tissue.

The filter set is built into the instrument so the viewing condition can change without adding a separate optical component.

Compact proportions, direct control

The microscope, illumination tower, joystick, and patient support are arranged as one compact examination platform. The controls remain visible and accessible as the clinician aligns the optical system and moves between magnification levels.

This concentrated layout gives practices the five-step range of the BL-9A while keeping the instrument centered on the essentials of direct observation.

An optical platform without built-in imaging

The BL-9A is configured for direct binocular examination rather than integrated photography or video. Its compact design brings together five magnifications, LED illumination, and diagnostic filters in a straightforward clinical instrument.
